Sophy Lennon is a garden designer and gardener.

Setting up her own practice in 2014 she has designed, worked alongside the build, planted, and gardened in a wide range of spaces from historic (listed) gardens to small town gardens and roof terraces. With a love of nature and wildlife she cherishes the challenge to create gardens that nourish our senses as well as offering food sources and habitat to bees, butterflies, and birds.

Formally trained at Capel Manor with a Diploma L2 in Garden Design, L3 in Principles and Practice and L3 Plants and Planting. Informally, time in the garden has been a core element of her green education. From a small child she was engaged by both sets of grandparents to help - collecting seeds, sowing, caring, planting out.

Born in Singapore, with a passion for travel, a love of Europe and an inquisitive nature Sophy went from school to study a BA in Sociology and Spanish (Anglia Ruskin and The University of Granada) . She went onto work as International Qualitative researcher (seven years) in Pharmaceutical and FMCG branding, packaging, and advertising. She missed the mud and was fortunate to be given an opportunity to make the change.

Sophy views the garden as a restorative space and encourages people take part in the stewardship of the garden, guiding it to thrive and observing the natural highs and lows of the season.

She still enjoys backpack travelling, swimming, spending time with family, friends and meeting new people and if time allows - lying on the beach in southern Spain with a book.
