Sophy Lennon is a garden designer whose work is grounded in both professional design training and practical horticultural experience. Having worked as a gardener as well as cultivating her own garden, she brings a deep understanding of plants, garden management, and the way gardens evolve and mature over time.

Every design is shaped by how the garden will be used, balancing the needs of the owners with the planting: seasonal interest, naturalistic planting, and a strong connection to the character of the surrounding landscape. With over twenty years of experience working alongside planners and architects on small residential developments and private gardens, Sophy began her career primarily designing small town gardens. Over the past ten years, her work has expanded to include larger country properties, historic garden restoration projects, and gardens that sit alongside agricultural land. These projects have allowed her to explore landscape design on a broader scale while maintaining her commitment to thoughtful, people-focused design.
Sophy views the garden as a restorative space that nurtures both people and nature. She encourages clients to take an active role in the stewardship of their gardens, developing an understanding of the rhythms of the seasons and helping their landscapes thrive over time.
She trained at the prestigious Capel Manor College, where she gained diplomas in Garden Design, Principles and Practice, and Plants and Planting. Prior to her career in landscape design, Sophy worked as an international qualitative researcher in the pharmaceutical and FMCG sectors, a background that honed her ability to listen closely to clients and translate their needs into meaningful, personalised designs.
A keen traveller, Sophy continues to draw inspiration from gardens and landscapes around the world, taking every opportunity to visit and learn from them whenever she travels.
